About the Boat
The new 62 Ski concept by Nelo was developed to target 4 main areas, that we considered a true racing ski should cover, which are as follows:
1. Stability
Being a racing ski, stability is crucial in the challenging conditions paddlers compete in, and also to support them in the high levels of fatigue they reach. To achieve this we adjusted seating height and placement and also the bow angle of attack, the result a boat that can “absorb” a lot more of the chocks of the ocean giving the athlete a smooth feeling even on the bumpier days.
2. Control
Finding the right position on each wave is key for a fast paddler, and the ski needs to follow those choices efficiently, adjusting rudder position, rudder options, and a new improved footrest with 3-point support gives the paddler the feeling the boat is just an extension of their feet.
3. Toughness
A big part of the feel of the ski comes from its toughness, a rigid ski will feel more solid as it cuts into a wave or surfs one, transmitting confidence and a real feel of speed. Only one new layup is being used to make it light, yet rigid and durable.
4. Speed
Feel and comfort are important, but in the end, a racing ski must be fast, and we also focused on that aspect, designing a ski that can deliver in any conditions. This is possible through the combination of many factors that align with the conception of a fast hull.

How to Setup your Nelo Boat
The Perfect trim | Valid for flatwater models
As with any high-performance machine, there is an ideal configuration where our boats are at peak efficiency, specifically with the angle of attack (pitch). This guide will help you trim your boat in order to be at that perfect angle when at speed.
- Check the table and images below to find the right measures for your boat size. That’s how you find the optimum static rending.
- Using a marker trace a small straight line, according to the right measure indicated in the table, on the bow for the static line;
- With the boat stopped, adjust your seat and footrest position so that the static line is levelled with the waterline. At that point is the Optimum Static Rending.
The measures we provide are for the median weight for each boat size (80 kg on an L, for example). So if you are on the limits of the boat’s weight range, the line will be over or under water, but the most important is that the static line is still levelled with the waterline.
