Telemetry is the automatic measurement and wireless transmission of data from remote sources. In general, telemetry works in the following way: Sensors at the source measure physical data, such as what happens to the boat while paddling as pitch, roll and strokes.
Electronic devices then send this data to an external computer that processes allowing instant monitoring and post analysis.
What is measured
Pitch – Average values and amplitude, measured in angles referring to the attack angle
Roll – Left and Right average angle.
Heading – Amplitude in angles of the movement of the bow from left to right
Acceleration – Measures acceleration of the forward movement in
Benefits for the athletes
Athlete telemetry involves gaining insights into performance from the athlete’s point of view, giving the athletes tools and information that can allow him to use the boat and paddle more efficiently.
