Nelo and Enaleia promoting sustainability in water sports

As a well-known brand in the kayaking community, particularly recognized for our high-performance racing kayaks we are truly committed to innovation and sustainability in all our processes.

In this direction, we partner with Enaleia, an organization focused on marine conservation, specifically working to combat overfishing and promote sustainable fishing practices. They engage in various initiatives, including training fishermen to adopt eco-friendly techniques and supporting the restoration of marine ecosystems.

This partnership is centred on promoting sustainability in water sports and marine environments. We collaborate on initiatives that raise awareness about ocean conservation and encourage the responsible use of marine resources.

Also, it involves especially the development of eco-friendly kayaks, for example, the Nelo 400.

The Nelo 400 is designed as a versatile kayak suitable especially for recreational paddling (Paddle Sports Show 2025 Recreational Paddling Prize).

And about the partnership?

Nelo has explored sourcing plastics recovered from marine environments by Enaleia, turning waste into high-quality materials for our PPE kayaks. This helps reduce ocean pollution and repurposes materials that otherwise harm aquatic ecosystems.

By incorporating recycled materials, Nelo aims to minimize its environmental footprint and promote a circular economy. This approach supports broader efforts to combat plastic waste and highlights the importance of sustainability in manufacturing.

This initiative contributes to eco-friendly production and raises awareness about the importance of ocean cleanup efforts.

Through these efforts, Nelo not only produces high-performance kayaks but also actively participates in the global movement toward reducing plastic waste and protecting marine ecosystems.
